Welcome!
I am a Ross Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University. I work with David Penneys and Micah Chrisman.
I received my PhD in Mathematics from UC Santa Barbara in 2025. My advisor was Stephen Bigelow. I received my Mathematics B.S. from UC Davis in 2014 and my Mathematics M.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 2017.
Research:
My research interests lie broadly in quantum algebra, quantum toplogy, operator algebras, and low-dimensional topology. My work connects to several areas of mathematics including tensor categories, knot theory, combinatorics, subfactors, mathematical physics, and representation theory.I particularly like topics related to the following:
- Diagrammatic algebras, especially planar algebras
- Fusion categories and higher categories
- Classical and virtual knots and their invariants
- Subfactors and their classification
- Combinatorial and topological applications of quantizations of real numbers
- Cluster algebras

Current Activity:
- I am a co-organizer of the special session "Thompson’s Groups, Braid Groups, and Their Applications to Knot Theory” at the AMS Fall Eastern Sectional Meeting at George Washington University in Washington, DC from October 3-4.
- For Spring 2026, I am teaching Math 1116: Excursions in Mathematics. This course is entirely online.
- I am a Mentee Board Member for the global Operator Algebra Mentor Network. More information on the network can be found here.
